If a tree falls in the forest, and there’s no one there to blog it…

Being almost as North-by-North-East as you can get on this continent, I didn’t get to the South by South West conference. However, the host of the SXSW Web Awards ceremony, John Styn (this link leads to a man in pink briefs), put together a series of videos in the style of Apple’s Switch campaign.

The video on blogging is gold: “If a tree falls in the forest and there’s no one there to blog it, did it really fall?” – (14Mb Windows Media file).

  1. Interesting (to me) tangent: Windows Media Player doesn’t let you take screenshots of videos.

  2. That is most likely just a side effect of the way video is displayed directly by your video card, bypassing the windows GUI.

  3. “and he was like… dude, what are your sources on that? […] and I was like dude… this is my source”

  4. Hi, came across your site by accident whilst looking for the words to a one act play I once saw entitled “if a tree falls in a forest”. I am entralled by your photos of the recent snow. I hope you had sufficient food etc in so that you didn’t have too much hardship. I live in central England. We rarely get snow anything like you do, though we often get some in mid February. Our snow tends to last for a day or so and then get washed away by rain or just disappear as the weather warms up. (Weather here can differ greatly from day to day). Beautiful though snow is, it is for most people who have to work a great inconvenience and in Britain we cope with it very badly. We are seldom prepared, driving etc becomes dangerous and as a result even motorways and towns grind to a halt, littered with accidents. This was true last week, when we had one icy morning. I hope everything has returned to normal where you live and thank you for your entertaining and interesting site.
    Very Best wishes Vic
