Mr. Pony seemed upsetIn England, a Pony who had an “exotic past in a wildlife park” gave birth to what scientists call a “Zeedonk”.

I for one think it’s cute. Too bad about the scientist’s name, ‘Shebra’ is much cooler. Here’s hoping that someday well discover a squoctopus…

  3. I don’t get it — it’s part zebra, part Shetland Pony. What’s with “donk,” which, let’s face it, can’t be elegantly married with anything…

  4. If you read the article, then you will see that the half-zebra foal is not in fact referred to as a zeedonk. The article merely mentions them as examples of zebra half-breeds. The half-breed has not yet been given an official name. Following the same format as zeedonk, however, it will probably be called a zeepo. Sounds like a Marx Brother to me.

  5. So I skimmed it and misrepresented the truth. As a journalist with a high traffic web site it’s important to get the news out there no matter how incorrect it is before everybody’s talking about it. That gives me the rights to cut a few corners on such earth rocking stories like a zebra knocking up a pony.

  6. I saw a Zonkey (zebra/donkey) at a lame zoo, the location of which I forget. The name is more impressive than the animal. This particular naming convention is pretty poor anyway – what will they call the donkey/monkey crossbreed? (The obvious choice: “Goddamn! That thing threw shit at me, then kicked me in the groin! Get it off of the porch, and put the leash back on it!” is just too long).

  8. Did anybody else find it funny that zeedonk has two e‘s in it? I mean, zebra only has one e so why would zeedonk be any different? Well, it isn’t. It’s zedonk. One e. I looked it up on dictionary.com so it must be true.

  13. I am currently doing a school project about the ‘Zeedonk’ and would be pleased if anyone of you would be able to help me find any true facts about this animal. As we all know, yes its mother and farther was donkey and the other a zebra but any other useful information would be helpful. Hope to here from you soon!
