I thought it was session twenty, not twentyone, though.
Steven Garrity - April 24, 2005 10:38 AM
Rob - did I call it session 21?
Joe - April 24, 2005 1:04 PM
Is there any way to skip past your inane commentary? I mean, I don't actually give a shit that you were taking a dump on thursday in a cool location.
Steven Garrity - April 24, 2005 1:52 PM
Mr. "Schmoe": Acts of Volition Radio is all about inane commentary! Otherwise, you'll have to find the music on your own.
Rob Mientjes - April 24, 2005 2:45 PM
Yes, Steven, you said 'twentyone' somewhere in the first several minutes.
And to second that motion, mister "Schmoe", I listen to AoV Radio just for the inane commantary.

Steven - Downloading the mp3 now, 3.5kb/sec down speed is a bit harsh though. What sort of hosting are you on? 6 1/2hrs left. :)
Andrea - April 24, 2005 5:41 PM
Seconding Justin's inquiry here, speed drops down to 1 (or zero) kb/sec at times, the upper limit has been 6 kb/sec so far. I started downloading about 5 hours ago and am still waiting for the last 20% to get through.

I'm not sure what's up with the download speed. I'll try and figure out what's going on. For now, be patient and you will be rewarded with a collection of ass-rocking music.

Perhaps Dijjer could help with the bandwidth issues - http://dijjer.com/
Disclaimer: I have nothing to do with Dijjer, nor have I tried it yet.

Why not create a .torrent file next time? That'll save you a lot of bandwidth...

I am not especially down with Billy Talent, mostly because they won all the Juno awards while obvious geniuses like the Arcade Fire and the Dears were largely ignored.
And while I have to confess to not liking most of the songs in this session, I am pleased to see you embracing the debauched hard rock lifestyle.
Johnny Rukavina - April 25, 2005 11:53 AM
I just came to the 3-track Extreme horroshow that finishes the session, the aural equivalent of lighting oneself on fire, leading me to wonder if you have plunged into a state of advanced mental defectiveness.
Steven Garrity - April 25, 2005 3:41 PM
Johnny: Yeah, it is pretty awesome, isn't it?
Andrea - April 25, 2005 6:02 PM
Yay, Hard Core Logo! I was wondering if Billy Talent had anything to do with the movie, so thanks for that tangent. I used to be a bit of a fangirl for Callum Keith Rennie and I still think Due South was a totally underrated show. But that just as an aside. *ahem*
I really liked River Below and The Red and am still amused by the random Mozart guitar wankery. Oh man.
Ryan Hillier - April 26, 2005 10:26 AM
Another great session, Steve; although I have to point out that your reference to Extreme's 1990 release being pre-Nirvana is incorrect. "Bleach" was released in '89.
Johnny: I was glad to see Talent get that recognition, even if it was a little much. You're right though. I am a big Dears fan and am just getting into The Arcade Fire; would've been nice to see some respect thrown their way.
Will Pate - April 27, 2005 9:47 PM
Great session Steve. I never could connect with punk much, but you found some gems.
Jeff Smith - April 29, 2005 6:59 PM
Greate session Steven. When I heard the first song that you played, I was pretty sure that I had heard The Living End somewhere before, so I did some hunting through my CD collection to see what I could find. I ran across the soundtrack for the movie "Idle Hands" and The Living End had the very first song on the album called "Second Solution" which is a great tune.

Hum.. usually I like the music on these - Chevelle? Payable on Death, Extreme? Think I'll wait for 21. :D

Joeshmoe, rude. I don't care about what YOU have to say. YOUR commmentary is inane. Maybe you could use a good shit in a cool location, seems you're a bit bound up and cranky. Disimpaction, perhaps? Spread a little love, hows about. xoxo
