As I was making my daily visit to Vince’s fine page today, the image next to the day’s post reminded me of a site I would frequent when I worked at Online Support which (among other things) made great product spoofs.
This site is the headquarters of the Afrosquad. I was pleasantly surprised to see how much it had changed over the past few years. The part that amused me specifically was the movies section. The movies themselves aren’t high quality, but, the effort put into them makes up for that. My favorite so far is the one for ‘Asswipes’ (so your hand don’t smell like ass).
They average a delicious 3 minutes each, totally worth your time. The rest of the page is also full of good material.
It’s high time VincentLand got the respect it deserves. Best Weblog there is.
If somebody out there is making something better than D.E.F.C. (Drunken Emails from Chad), I would like to see it.

Speaking of Vince’s Fine Page, is it down or something dude? I get the frames, but no centre page-meat!
I fucking hate computers, I’m in the wrong fucking industry.
This is the problem: 90% of the site is hosted through members.home.net, while a few other things are hosted on web.cadvision.com. Both of these servers are up and running on a T1 connection.
The main diary page is hosted on harold.phoozeball.net which is someone’s 166 in their basement on a 100k cable connection. The person who hosts it, is on vacation in Winnipeg. I got ahold of him tonight and it turns out that his roomate rebooted the modem for some unknown reason, therefore refreshing the IP address. We can’t get ahold of his roomate and we don’t know the IP, so tommorow we’re moving the SQL and blog shit to cgi.cadvision.com which is easier said then done.
In other words, it’s broken.
If you think I’m an idiot for hosting my site on three different servers, you’re probably right. I do it for bandwidth limitations, I moved over 300mb’s last month (Believe the hype!!).
Expect it up again in 24 hours.
It’s funny, it was my mom that called me to tell me the site was down. She knew before I did.
