i’m afraid of americans.

Isn’t it odd how some Canadians get more involved and excited in the American elections than they do in their own? Some sort of political penis envy, no doubt.

Speaking of Americans and phallic imagery, check out www.ProtectAmericansNow.com. Propagandist ads and a zipcode specific report of how vulnerable you may be to missile attack: interactive and fun! Building a missile defense system to start up a new arms race – the very pinacle of safety itself! Not that the United States has any legitimacy in this area to begin with as it can’t even overcome partisan politics to approve a nuclear test ban treaty.

Hope the wind isn’t blowing northwards when the bombs start to drop.

  1. Empire America will end in a violent death. History bears witness to this trend. Enjoy the exploitation while you can, you will burn….

  2. The United States is similiar to the Roman Empire except for one thing. If we go, YOU ALL go with us, and there is no possible way that you can prevent that, so mrbill you will be burning with us. And with Bush in control we may be coming for your country next, your only hope is to surrender if we come, or you will burn while I sit in my lazy-boy recliner watching you on T.V. and drinking a coke, your existence and actions have no affect on the American way of life, so it doesn’t matter what you think of us.

“Our Arrogance makes us stronger, Our intelligence makes us more advanced, Our way of life will remain, or there will be no more life on the planet Earth.”

  3. An American, I resent the tone and tack of present U.S. leadership. A veteran negotiator as well, I also know it’s a sin to leave money on the table. The CTBT has only symbolic value now; without practical weight, ratification would be a giveaway. Change is constant and WesternCiv is a going concern. It takes no imagination at all to see that a changing world will stop some initiatives in their tracks.

CTBT simply wouldn’t suppress any modern threats, so the onus is now on its supporters. U.S. abandonment of Kyoto is shameful, but ditching the test-ban treaty (and START, etc.) is a non-brainer, lost only on the granola-addled.

One of these days the Left will have to grow some balls. Conserving powder and outrage for fights that truly matter would be a start. Thinking past the jerking knee wouldn’t hurt, either.
